There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce – he goes out of his way to make that very clear. But she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, Luce has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret...even if it kills her

Hell on earth.

That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel.

It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts - immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous.

What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else?

Luce would die for Daniel.

And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn't need to be that way....

Luce is certain that something - or someone - in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime...going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel...and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history. Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames...forever.

The sky is dark with wings . . . .

Like sand in an hourglass, time is running out for Luce and Daniel. To stop Lucifer from erasing the past they must find the place where the angels fell to earth. Dark forces are after them, and Daniel doesn’t know if he can do this—live only to lose Luce again and again.

Yet together they will face an epic battle that will end with lifeless bodies . . . and angel dust. Great sacrifices are made. Hearts are destroyed. And suddenly Luce knows what must happen.

For she was meant to be with someone other than Daniel. The curse they’ve borne has always and only been about her—and the love she cast aside. The choice she makes now will be the only one that truly matters.

In the fight for Luce, who will win?

OK. This series got a lot of hate in the goodreads reviews. I didn't care. I was determined to read them and make my own decisions. And I am SO glad I did. I LOVED this series. Big time, hardcore. The storyline was genius in my opinion. Daniel and Luce's tragic love story is beautiful. And I was rooting for them every step of the way. Daniel, a fallen angel, is cursed to see the love of his life die at the age of 17. Over and over and over again. She is reincarnated and no matter what he always finds her and falls in love with her and she with him. Finally, Luce Price is different. Things are set in motion and surprise! She doesn't die when he kisses her. Fallen was a great start to the series. I loved the characters. Daniel, who started off as a total asshole, Cam, who was charming and likeable, Arriane, who was Luce's best friend at the Sword & Cross school.

Torment, the second book in the series, was tormenting to read. Oh my heart. Luce and Daniel realized things are different this time around. However, because he is only allowed to tell her so much, she gets frustrated very quickly at being left in the dark. We see our perfect couple, as not so perfect. They are fighting and really questioning whether or not they should be together. Lauren Kate throws Miles into the mix, a Nephilim boy at the school she's attending. C'mon Lauren Kate... no love triangles here. Luce and Daniel's love is EPIC.

Passion, the third book in the series, was probably my least favorite, but it was still good. It was neat to go through Luce's past lives and see how she met Daniel. And wow, the whole Bill twist. Didn't see that coming at all.

Rapture, the final book in the series, was epic. I love the angel lore and being a fan of Paradise Lost, this book was right up my alley. I did wish Kate had put out a novella of some sort so we could really see how things continued after the end. Otherwise, she did a good job resolving the plot conflicts and I had closure at the end.

Guys. Make your own decisions about the series. I'm a true romantic in every sense of the word, so I loved these books.
