A book blog dedicated to young adult and new adult novels

Swoon Thursday #6

By 7:09 AM

Swoon Thursday is a weekly event hosted by YA Bound.

Here's what you do:

From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell me what made you swoon. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering. Shout it out on twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments or grab the button above and share it on your blog.

This week's swoon comes from Kami Garcia's Beautiful Creatures, from which I am currently reading. I'm over halfway through and I've really found more sweet moments between Lena and Ethan than any that just made me swoon. However, I did come across this one:

"I kissed her again, pulling her up into my arms. Kissing her was like breathing. I had to do it. I couldn't help myself. I pressed my body against hers. I could feel her breathing, feel her heart beating against my chest. My whole nervous system started firing at once. My hair was standing on end. Her black hair spilled into my hands, and she relaxed into my body. Every touch of her hair was like a prick of electricity. I had been waiting to do this since I had first met her, since I had first dreamed about her. It was lightning striking. We were one thing.

Ethan.

Even in my head, I could hear the urgency in her voice. I felt it too, couldn't get close enough to her. Her skin was soft and hot. I could feel the pinpricks intensifying. Our lips were raw; we couldn't kiss each other any harder."

There we go! What made you swoon this week?

    1. I really wanted to watch the movie before I started reading the book, but I never got around to going and then the book became available for my on e-book from the library. Now that I've read the book, I'm sure the movie won't do it justice!
