Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

                                                        -goodreads.com description

So, after reading Clockwork Princess and dealing with all the heavy, I decided I needed a new adult romance to make me feel better. SO, the plan was to start to Wait For You last night. And I stayed up and read the whole darn thing. Woops!

When I first posted I got this back on an old STS, everyone was like, "You've got to read this, you're going to love Cam!" And love him I did. Cam was an awesome character and he was so fun to read about. He's confident, proud, protective, and thoughtful. And persistent. Oh is this boy persistent! :) But in such a good way. Come on: who would turn down a guy that comes over and makes you breakfast every weekend and bakes you cookies? Really?!

Avery on the other hand, really drove me a little nuts. I understand that she had something horrible happen to her, and she is still dealing with its aftermath 5 years later, and that she is learning how to trust, but I think she should have had a little more faith in Cam than she did, especially after he was willing to open himself up to her. I'm glad she finally realized what she had to do to gain closure because you don't let guys like that slip away.

Jacob, Britt, and Ollie, while all secondary characters, were definitely our comedic relief in this book. There were a couple points where I chuckled out loud at something Jacob had said. All three were great friends to both Avery and Cam, and I was glad J.Lynn wrote them as she did.

Overall, I really loved this book, because I like seeing characters overcome a difficult point in their life and realize that they can't let the past overshadow their future or happiness. Watching Avery and Cam learn how to trust each other and fall in love was definitely the best part of the book! (Well, maybe second best part- after all it's Jennifer Armentrout. And we all know that woman knows how to write some swoon-worthy scenes. HELLO- have you met Daemon or Aiden?)

  8. Absolutely fell in love with WFY, I'm the same as you with so many people saying I had to read it. But they were right, Cam was so sweet and I love how cheeky he could be. Ollie was hilarious with his camera (trying not to give anything away)but I have to say that Raphael stole the show :P
