This is my first full length Rachel Gibson book and I can honestly say I really enjoyed it! I read Blue By You, which was a short novella by Gibson, and while I enjoyed it, I found I struggled with the fact that it was a novella and they are too short to truly build and develop relationships.

Run To You was a cute, fun read and was just what I needed after my last emotionally draining book. I really liked both Stella and Beau's characters and even though they had only known each other for a little over a week before proclaiming love, I didn't get that insta-love vibe from this one. I think I feel that way because this book has a lot of other things going on besides the romance. Beau is hired to track down Stella because her half sister, Sadie just found out about her existence and wants to meet her. However, Beau ends up getting into a scuffle with Stella's employers (who happen to be mobsters) and Stella ends up pissing them off as well. Ultimately, we have three storylines in one- Stella and Beau are heading across country to a) get clear of the mobsters and b) introduce Stella to her half-sister Sadie, all while trying not to give in to their lustful feelings for one another.

Stella is such a fun character. She's a firecracker for sure. She has an awkward sense of humor- she makes jokes that not a lot of people find funny and her favorite saying is "Holy frijole y guacamole!" which cracked me up every time! Yet Stella is also real- she is nervous about meeting her half sister- her father never wanted any part in her life, so why would she? The last thing she wants is her perfect, golden child sister to look at her as inferior and not end up liking her.

Beau is a former Marine and has taken a vow of celibacy until he finds the girl he wants to marry. After waking up to too many girls he doesn't give a damn about, he wants sex to mean something. He doesn't want to end up like his father, who he and his twin brother, watched treat their mother like crap by cheating on her. I loved Beau. He is a good guy through and through, but is a bit rough around the edges. He's not that overly romantic guy and some of the things that come out of his mouth can be a bit crude. (Helloooo, he's a former Marine! Enough said. Still some of the things he said cracked me up!)

He may be doing a favor to his friend Vince by finding Sadie's half sister, Stella, but he becomes protective of her and genuinely begins to care about her feelings. He can't help but be drawn to her, as annoying as she may come across to him at first. It's not that Beau isn't the relationship kind of guy- he does want to settle down- get married, have kids. Yet, Stella is off limits to him. He claims she's too young and that he doesn't mix business with pleasure. Soon, she has him questioning whether those things are really the issue or if he's holding himself back for some other reason.

The chemistry in this book? WHEW! So hot! I love the sexual tension between Beau and Stella! Like I said, I realize they've only known each other for a few days, but still. I was all kinds of ready for them to admit their feelings to one another!

The only issue I had was I felt the mobster storyline kind of petered out. I kept waiting for something to happen in that regard, but nothing ever did. So that was kind of a letdown. Or maybe it was that I wanted her to get kidnapped or something and then have Beau go all super Marine and go in guns blazing? I get Stella is no damsel in distress, but I just felt like I needed a bit more resolution there.

Again, this was a cute, fun read and I am definitely interested in checking out Sadie and Vince's book Rescue Me and then I'll be waiting for Beau's twin, Blake's story!
