#1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines continues the unforgettable story of Grant Carter, the irrestible playboy who first captured readers’ hearts in Fallen Too Far.

The second installment in a never before published New Adult duet by #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines, ONE MORE CHANCE  is the follow up to the smash hit TAKE A CHANCE, and concludes the story of Grant Carter, a fan favorite character, and Harlow.

She was it. His one. His only. Then he made the mistake of letting her go.

After fighting his way into Harlow Manning’s heart—and revealing a side of himself no one had ever seen before—Grant Carter destroyed his own heart by giving in to his greatest fears and doubts. Months later, he’s stuck in a miserable routine. Work relentlessly. Beg his best friend Rush for news about Harlow. Avoid all other friends. Leave nightly voicemails for Harlow, pleading with her to come back to Rosemary Beach. Fall asleep alone. Repeat.

Miles away, on her brother’s Texas ranch, Harlow can’t bring herself to listen to Grant’s voicemails. Though she wants to be with him, and knows he regrets letting her go, she doesn’t know if she can trust him. When he discovered the truth behind her sheltered upbringing, it shattered their relationship, but the secret she carries now has far greater consequences. Can she risk giving Grant one more chance, or will the gamble ultimately destroy her?

With her signature passionate characters and sizzling connections, Abbi Glines debuts another steamy, page-turning novel that will leave readers desperate for more.

After the heartbreaking ending in Take a Chance, I was desperate to get back to Rosemary Beach to find out if Grant and Harlow would get their happily ever after. I feel Glines did an excellent job of concluding their story and I'm happy we got to see such a variety of themes in this book: forgiveness, redemption, sacrifice, and unconditional love. Harlow and Grant certainly have their share of obstacles to overcome and the road they travel is definitely one to remember, as it is filled with so much emotion.

This book was definitely hard to read at times. Harlow and Grant are hurting without one another. Grant realizes he made a huge mistake and wants nothing more than to have the chance to fix it. He is desperate for Harlow to return his calls so he can beg for forgiveness. I love his devotion to her though. His actions speak volumes and I really liked that about him. There is no doubt that he loves her and would do anything for her. Harlow, however, is not ready to let Grant back into her life. Even though she is miserable without him, she is terrified of losing him once he discovers her secret.

Thankfully, Harlow has such a great support system and so many people in her corner. Her brother Miles, his mom Maryann, Rush, Blaire, Della, and Woods.... even her father, as rough around the edges as he is. However, everyone is also very concerned for her too. Her secret is one that could potentially harm her and no one wants to see anything happen to endanger her. However, Harlow is a determined one. She is selfless and her love for those dearest to her is so endearing that you find yourself crossing your fingers and hoping that everything would work out for her.

This is a much more character driven, emotional book than it is one of action. There were times I felt some things were a bit repetitive and some of the writing seemed a bit simplistic to me. All of these characters have been through the ringer and have faced their own struggles and obstacles, so I do like the characterization Glines has done and shown that no matter how dysfunctional these families may be, they are still capable of love and worthy of forgiveness.

Fans of the series will be happy with the way Grant and Harlow's story ends, as well as the fact that they get to see all their old favorites make an appearance (and even some not so favorites might surprise you!) Abbi Glines writes with heart and I love how much passion and emotion she breathes into her characters because they will definitely leave a lasting impression!
