Tasty Tuesday #25

By 1:00 AM

Hey guys! I'm back again with another Tasty Tuesday!

I do alter my recipes to fit my own tastes, so please also feel free to refer back to the original recipe at the bottom of the post to see what I may have eliminated.

Most of my recipes are Weight Watcher friendly, but don't let that scare you away. They are actually really good. I've also found some great websites like Skinny Kitchen and Skinny Taste that I use a lot too. Most of my recipes have some kick to them, so if you are not a big spicy person, adjust the spices to better fit your tastes. OH. And all of the meals I cook are really easy to prepare. I'm not big on difficult meals.

Today I am featuring:

Italian Turkey Burgers

(For those of you who follow my Tasty Tuesday posts, this burger is very reminiscent in looks to the Pepperoni Pizza Burger. However, I can assure you, both are very different in taste.)

Ingredients:

-1lb. ground turkey, lean
-cooking spray
-1/3 cup uncooked onion, diced
-2 tsp. minced garlic
-2 tsp. fennel seed
-1/2 tsp. salt
-1/4 tsp. black pepper
-2 small tomatoes, thickly sliced
-basil leaves
-reduced calorie hamburger rolls

Directions:

1. Coat a grill or grill pan with cooking spray; preheat to medium high.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey, onion, garlic, fennel seed, salt, and pepper; form into four 1/2 inch thick patties. Coat burgers and inside of rolls with cooking spray.

3. Grill burgers for 5 minutes; flip burgers and add rolls to grill. Grill open-face rolls until lightly charred, about 1 to 2 minutes; remove to serving plates. Grill burgers until cooked through, about 5 minutes more.

4. To serve, top grilled rolls with burgers and tomato slices; garnish with basil.

Notes:

*Added 1 slice of provolone cheese and topped with light mayo. For extra flavor, I will rub grilled rolls with a garlic clove next time.

Serving Size: 1 burger
Serves: 4
Cook Time: 10-15 minutes
WW+: 7 pts. without cheese and mayo- with would be about 9 pts.

Leave me some comment love! And I will get around to commenting back!

My blog is an award-free blog, however, as I just do not have the time to follow-up.
