Top Ten Tuesday #7

By 7:34 AM

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Books I Recommend the Most

1. Hourglass by Myra McEntire (I fell head over heels in love with this book, its characters, and the fact that it's about time travel!)

2. Divergent by Veronica Roth (I read this and thought it was better than HG. Which is saying alot because I ADORED HG.)

3. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows. (I adored this book. I thought it was such a neat concept for souls to be reincarnated into different bodies and different lives)

4. Defiance by C.J. Redwine (I know a few of you weren't as crazy about this book as I was, but, when a book completely brings me to a point where I literally the reader can feel every single emotion and every hurt, every joy that the characters do I know it's a great book. Defiance really took my emotions and drained them dry.)

5. Golden by Jessi Kirby (This book does not release until May, so I was fortunate to be able to read it early thanks to Edelweiss. I would recommend this book to any girl who is afraid to take risks and to wear your heart out on your sleeve. I wish I had this book a few years ago- it would have completely changed a situation I was going through- if only I weren't afraid to take that leap into the unknown!)

6. Before I Wake (Soul Screamers #6) by Rachel Vincent. (One word to describe how I feel about this book: TOD. That is all.)

7. The Alchemist by Paul Coehlo (I remember being blown away by this book. It is so philosophical and moving and I love the journey involved.)

8. Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach (Short, beautiful novel about a seagull learning about life and flight and making his own decisions)

9. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (I had to include a classic here. The way that Sydney loved Lucie, even though he knew he couldn't have her, is beautiful to me. He wishes that she would lead "A life she loves", and makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the man she loves the most.)

10. Shine (Shade #3) by Jeri Smith-Ready (Oh, this book. I highly recommend this whole series because I adored it, but this book was my favorite. I love that Aura goes to such great lengths to save Zachary and be with him. He does the same with her and they are without a doubt one of my favorite YA couples.)

    1. LOL. Now that you mention it, I'm kind of wondering if I should have picked Dickens. I read A Tale of Two Cities back in HS, so its quite possible I wouldn't like it as much now. I hope you love Divergent!! Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Divergent is a fabulous read. I love Roth's creative imagining of a futuristic dystopian society. I try to recommend that one to students a lot too, but I have to know which kids because a lot of them are intimidated by the size of Divergent! haha

    1. LOL. I agree, Roth did an amazing job of creating the society. I always tell my students that if they liked HG, they will love Divergent. I teach Spanish though, so books don't come up very often, heheh.
