You can be anyone for a night…

Alicia isn’t the kind of girl to kiss a total stranger up against the wall -- no matter how devastatingly sexy he is. But reeling from a broken heart, she runs straight into the arms of Dex Callahan: rock star, bad boy, and the most seductive man she’s ever known.

Dex is looking for distraction, at any price. The innocent redhead is just what he needs to keep his demons at bay -- but one taste of her sweetness isn’t enough. He needs to possess her, body and soul.

Two searching hearts. One night to discover the passion of a lifetime. Dex is determined to show Alicia the pleasure she’s been denied, but can she let go of her heartache and take a risk on the unknown? Find out in the sizzling new novella from USA Today bestselling author, Melody Grace!

If I don't get my hands on Uninhibited soon (Alicia and Dex's full length novel), I may internally combust. No, really. Because this novella was HAWT. I think Dex may be Melody's baddest, sexiest boy yet! Whew! And good Lord, the man can dirty talk! It was so much fun to watch uptight, good girl Alicia let herself go when she was with him. Both of them have some deeply rooted issues to work through, but their one night of passion and freedom makes them both forget, if only for a little while.

Alicia is pining over a man she cannot have and is suffering from unrequited love. After fleeing a restaurant opening and her friends, she finds herself outside seeking solitude only to come across Dex Callahan, rock god extraordinaire. She doesn't know who he is and she is completely caught off guard by him. (Dex Callahan can push me up against an alley wall and kiss the pants off me ANYDAY.)

Dex has some demons to face himself, though we don't get much insight into what they are. We do know that he was once a popular rock star but he had left his band and still has his manager and others begging for him to come back. Dex loves the feeling of being on stage and completely losing himself in performing, but something happened to make him stay far away and I am intrigued as to what it is. I loved his character. He isn't afraid to say what he feels and he wants Alicia to open up to him and let herself experience what it's like to just let go. She is so wrapped up in the man that she can't have. I was wary of Alicia especially after meeting her in Hunter and Brit's story. I felt really bad for her because she's just so lonely. She sees all her friends together and happy and she's the one that doesn't have that. Being with Dex makes her forget for just a little while and she is embarrassed at how willingly she succumbs to him.

I love that Melody is bringing us a new set of characters and a new series. Dex has two brothers and a sister, so after we get his story, we'll be finding out theirs!

Overall, Unrequited was a steamy short prequel novella for Alicia and Dex and I cannot wait to see how their story plays out, especially after Dex's proposition at the end!

  2. Wow, this sounds fantastic, Jessica. I haven't read any of Ms. Grace's books (despite owning a few) but it sounds as though I need to hop to it. Especially if Dex is waiting for me. ;)

  3. I'd read this one just for the cover! HAHA! But I do love the sound of the characters and the intriguing story line. It just sounds like it would be a good series to get lost in!

    Lovely Review!
