How do you send a killer to the grave when he's already dead?

Having narrowly averted an (under)World War, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans's voodoo queen just keeps on giving--leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity--forever. But one wrong step and they'll be digging their own graves.

I hate giving negative reviews but I was so disappointed in this book. And I LOVE this series. Cat and Bones are awesome and all of the side characters are just fun to read about! This book, however, just didn't catch my interest. I think the storyline was just a little flat. Cat still has the ability to call on ghosts, thanks to the New Orleans voodoo queen. She is approached with the threat of an ghost who can turn corporeal on Halloween and tortures and burns three women he considers "witches". It is up to Cat and the gang to figure out how to stop this ghost from completing his mission and save the women.

Cat and Bones, however, were great. I love those two together and they make a great team. They protect each other, fight for each other, and respect each other. Bones was not as crazy about letting Cat go off on her own in this novel, which really shows he's trying to not be too territorial of her. This is huge progress for them.

Tate and the gang didn't make much of an appearance this time around, which was fine by me, since Tate was getting on my last nerve. Don, however, Cat's uncle, was a pretty important part of this novel, especially with his new 'status'. We are also introduced to the new head honcho of the unit, who is a complete jerk. I'm curious to see his role in the next book.

Here's what I need for the seventh book:

1. Lots of Cat and Bones cuteness and fun
2. Vlad and Ian.
3. A fast-paced storyline with lots of action

Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they've triumphed over the latest battle, Cat's new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance . . .

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally"; the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war . . . to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

I hate to admit it, but for the first time in this series, this book just didn't do it for me. Granted, it could be because I just blew through books three and four in the past two days. I'm glad that after last book's emotional ups and downs this one at least presented more stability for Cat and Bones. They are by far one of my favorite book couples.

I guess I just found the plot line a bit lacking and sluggish. Cat and Bones had some great moments together, but overall, it's just not one of my favorites.

Her deadly dreams leave her in grave danger

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they've fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it's time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She's having visions of a vampire named Gregor who's more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn't know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won't stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor's hold over her. She'll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she's ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

That moment when you literally cannot put a book down so you read the whole thing? Yep, just had one. Two reviews in one day?! Sickening I tell you. To be fair- I did take at least a day and a half to read the last one.

What can I say? This book ripped me apart. So I had to keep reading because there was no way I was finishing without my HEA. This is the fourth book in Jeaniene Frost's 'Night Huntress' series and it did not disappoint. Was I irritated? Yes. Was I heartbroken? Yes. Was I happy? Yes. I think I went through every sort of emotion possible in this book.

This is truly the first time in three books that we have seen Cat and Bones' relationship truly rocked to the core. He's overprotective, she's pig-headed. And gah, the miscommunication between them. They both say some pretty awful things to each other and at times really treat each other like crap. However, through it all, I would say this only strengthened their relationship.

I love love LOVE Vlad's character. He showed up in the previous book (it's Dracula!) and he's back for more. He's witty AND he really turns out to be on Team Cat. I'm glad he's got her back.

I was glad there hardly any (if at all) Tate in this book. He gets on my nerves. I get that he's in love with Cat, but constantly nagging her about her changing her mind? That's annoying on so many levels. Take the hint, buddy.

Cat's mom also plays another role in this book. I feel for her, I really do. We'll see how that plays out in more books. (Sorry- I won't spoil it for you!)

I have the fifth book on my Nook ready and rearing to go! And then I'm on the waitlist for the sixth one, so you'll finally be able to read a review that isnt part of this series. After this next one, I think I'll need a change of pace from vampires and go to on werewolves! The third Mercy Thompson book awaits me as well.

Chao!

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

At Grave's End is the third book in Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series. This series is not YA, but for those who love the Mercy Thompson, Kate Daniels, and the Sookie Stackhouse books, these books are a must read.

Jeaniene Frost does not disappoint in her third novel. Granted, we have no famous Chapter 32's, like from her previous book, "One Foot in the Grave", but Cat and Bones's romance is still as strong as ever.

This was a very fast read for me, as it's very action packed. Frost does not leave alot of room for lag or down time from the main plot.

I'm ready to start her fourth book, "Destined For An Early Grave"!

She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner--are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Oh, Bones.... be still my heart. I'd let him change me into a vampire any day! Cat, you crazy bitch, it took you long enough to jump on that!

The writing is a little immature, but I liked the book regardless. It was a fast read, and oh my there were some steamy scenes! Everyone has been saying how much Bones reminds them of Spike from Buffy. I think I agree.

Cat's goal in hunting vampires is revenge against her father who ruined her mother's life. She ends up teaming up with Bones, a master vampire/bounty hunter, and together they make a kick ass team. Along the way, of course they fall for each other. This book has some great, great lines.

Favorite Quotes:

“I'm saying that I'm a moody, insecure, narrow-minded, jealous, borderline homicidal bitch, and I want you to promise me that you're okay with that, because it's who I am, and you're what I need.” - Cat

“You're not a woman," he said finally. "You're the Grim Reaper with red hair!”- Bones

“MTV and video games have solved that problem as far as most of humanity goes. That, and telly, as it were.”
“Telly?” Who was that?
He grunted in amusement. “Television, of course. Don’t you speak English?”
“You sure don’t,” I muttered.
Shaking his head, he frowned at me.”

“No, I'm too tired to run, and you're too fast. You'd only catch me." "That's right, luv." Softly, but with unyielding resonance. "if you run from me, I'll chase you. And I'll find you. Bones said.”
