My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy; a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why; especially since I should have been the one who died...

I have to be honest... this book just didn't do it for me. It was very difficult to get into and I just found it to be a slow read. In fact, I caught myself skimming through alot of pages, not reading every detail like I usually do with a book that catches my attention.
Alot of the scenes I felt were dragged on way too long and we had way too much time in the main character, Gwen's head.
I found Gwen to be irritating and I couldn't relate to her at all. Logan, the Spartan she has feelings for, runs hot and cold, and ends the book as a douche with a capital D.
The story line had a lot of potential, as I really like reading about Norse mythology.
I am on the hold list for the second book in this series, and I will give it a shot in hopes the series gets better.
