What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt...
After not really surviving her junior year (does "undead" count as survival?), Kaylee Cavanaugh has vowed to take back her school from the hellions causing all the trouble. She's going to find a way to turn the incarnations of Avarice, Envy and Vanity against one another in order to protect her friends and finish this war, once and forever.
But then she meets Wrath and understands that she's closer to the edge than she's ever been. And when one more person close to her is taken, Kaylee realizes she can't save everyone she loves without risking everything she has....

First of all let me say, what a beautiful ending to such a great series. I can't remember what made me give these books a shot, but I am SO glad I did. I do remember being burnt out on vampires and werewolves, so it was so refreshing to finally read about a different type of paranormal group-bean sidhes!
Our main character Kaylee has had quite a ride. We have seen so much growth from her: We've watched her discover her true nature, we've watched her fall in love and experience heartbreak, we've watched her friendships grow and strengthen due to countless tragedies, and we have watched her turn into a person who is willing to sacrifice everything for the people she loves.
Having become so attached to all of the characters in the Soul Screamers novels, I am quite sad to say goodbye. The ending was bittersweet for me. I felt Kaylee got her HEA, but it definitely came with a price.
Overall, I do feel this book wrapped up the series nicely and we did have our questions answered and all major plotlines were resolved.
Kaylee and Tod were as fierce in love as ever, and that definitely made me enjoy this book all the more, because I love everything about Tod. He provides us with comedic relief, but has so many tender moments with Kaylee it definitely makes your heart feel full.
Here's to another ending of a series, and best part of all: No epilogues. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Annabelle! I hope you enjoy it! I wouldn't say it's my favorite in the series, but I definitely liked how everything was wrapped up so nicely.
DeleteTod!! oh Tod!!! *faints* Loved this review! I love this series so much, and you are right, it was bittersweet! I felt Rachel did a good job wrapping up the book. So glad I stuck with the series.
ReplyDeleteAlso agree with you on Kaylee, she has always been a strong character, and I enjoyed watching her grow! I just love Tod XD

:) Thanks Magen! I wish we could all have a Tod of our own! I am glad how things ended up working out with Nash and him. I'm glad Rachel didn't leave any loose ends!

My blog is an award-free blog, however, as I just do not have the time to follow-up.
