Feature and Follow Friday #10

By 7:49 AM

The Feature & Follow is a weekly event that allows bloggers to get to know each other, and gain more followers! It is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

If you are a new follower, I thank you! I will be giving away a signed copy of Katie McGarry's Pushing the Limits once I hit 250 GFC followers! (Just in time for Dare You To, which comes out at the end of May!)

Leave me a comment and let me know how you followed so I can follow you back! You can now follow me via Bloglovin' and you can follow me on Twitter! (I love tweeting about books!)

Q: Give us a sneak: What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.

Currently reading The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay

Wow, this book! I actually finished it late last night because there was no way I was stopping! It is such a beautiful, heartbreaking story between two very broken characters who slowly learn how to hope again and face their traumatic pasts. My favorite scene is where, Nastya (the main character) heads over to Josh's house (our other main character) because it is her birthday and things did not go how she would have wanted. They begin discussing how she didn't have cake and he says she missed the best part: the wish. He goes and finds a pail full of pennies and then takes her to an outdoor shopping center where he tells her to have at it and make as many wishes as she wants. Eventually, she loses her bracelet in the fountain and they both climb in looking for it, but end up splashing around and just having fun, acting like light hearted 18 year olds, not two broken individuals who have had a lifetime of shit to deal with. I love that something as simple as throwing pennies in a fountain can get through to Nastya and make her realize that there are things in life worth wishing for and not everything is hopeless.

What are you guys in the middle of reading?

    1. Jess, this book was so beautifully written. It was heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time and I thought she did a wonderful job of developing the characters and their relationships to each other. The water fountain scene just made me smile because they finally acted like kids for a change instead of having the weight of the world bearing down on them. I can definitely see how it was your favorite of '12!
