It’s Wait for You as you’ve never seen it. Trust in Me lets you in on Cam’s side of the #1 New York Times Bestselling story.

Cameron Hamilton is used to getting what he wants, especially when it comes to women. But when Avery Morgansten comes crashing into his life – literally – he finally meets the one person who can resist his soulful baby blues. But Cam’s not ready to give up. He can’t get the feisty and intriguing girl out of his head.

Avery has secrets, secrets that keep her from admitting the feelings Cam knows she has for him. Will persistence (and some delicious homemade cookies) help him break down her barriers and gain her trust? Or will he be shut out of Avery's life, losing his first real shot at the kind of love that lasts forever?

Oh Cam! How I have missed you! I've been wanting to reread Wait For You for quite a while now, but after reading Trust in Me, I don't need to! I will admit, I typically don't like re-tellings of the same story. But... it's CAM. How could I not love it? While it is the same story as Wait For You, it was nice getting inside Cam's head and seeing Avery from his point of view. We also get more interactions with the hilarious Ollie, as well as more Jase (which is perfect considering his book is up next!)

"I held the door open and the moment we stepped out in the hall, Ollie burst out from our apartment, cell phone in one hand and a wiggling Raphael in the other. What the...? "Smile!" Ollie snapped a picture. "It's like my two kids are going to prom." Oh. My. God."

Cam is definitely one of my book boyfriends. He's dead sexy, he bakes cookies, makes breakfast, has a pet turtle, a tattoo, loves his family... geeze I could go on and on!

AND- He is a genuine good guy and I loved how he gravitated toward Avery. (How adorable is it he calls her Shortcake?) He's one of those people who see the brokenness in others and wants to help fix it. Cam has a younger sister, Teresa, who was hurt by an ex-boyfriend and Cam did not handle that well. In fact, he got into some big trouble. Ever since that event, Cam has been different. He has a bit of a reputation as a player, but that's not who he is anymore. I think he sees a bit of his sister in Avery and instantly feels the need to protect her. Avery is so skittish and fragile and we really see that in this story. He sees something special in her, which is why he so relentless in his pursuit. His friends wonder if this girl is really worth it, but he is convinced she is. After asking her out on a daily basis, she finally agrees to go out with him.  Cam is patient with her, knowing she's keeping something from him. I loved that Cam doesn't play around. Avery does not communicate well with him, and after he saw something he wasn't supposed to see, she freaks on him and doesn't speak to him for weeks. Cam is persistent, but he also is realistic. He steps back and gives her space, and while he misses her, he's not going to torture himself over the fact that she won't talk to him. She made it clear she didn't want to speak to him and as much as he hates it, sometimes there's only so much you can do.

Avery has been hurt in the past and she still lets it control her present. She can move thousands of miles away, but the past always has a way of catching up with you. She is trying to put it behind her and while spending time with Cam helps, it doesn't take away her fears and insecurities. Their relationship is very slow developing, but once it does... WHEW! That boy knows what's doing!

"I kissed her for real this time, tracing the pattern of her lips, learning the feel of them. They were as soft as I believed they'd be, absolutely perfect against mine. When she leaned into me, making a tiny breathy sound, lust fueled by something far deeper slammed into me."

Seeing Cam with Ollie, Jase, and Raphael were my favorite parts. They are such guys and they are so funny together! They also aren't afraid to call each other on their shit and treat each other as brothers. Cam's family was also great. He's very lucky to have such supportive parents in his life. Bringing Avery home with him wasn't awkward or weird- in fact, his parents really liked her and made her feel welcome.

Overall, while this isn't much different from Wait For You, I definitely enjoyed reading Cam's POV because I definitely got a better feel of him as a character and I always love seeing what the other person is really thinking. J.Lynn writes and weaves the best romances and her writing style just pulls you in and always leaves you craving more!

  2. Great review girl! I can't wait to read this. I think re-tellings are hit or miss with me. If they are done right and add a lot more depth to the plot I can dig them. If there exactly the same only different MC, not so much. I know I'll enjoy this one though. I mean, like you said, it's CAM!
