#CatchUpClub Round 3: Oct. 1-15th
Hiya guys! Welcome to Round 3 of the #CatchUpClub!
Catch Up Club is hosted by Dianne at Oops! I Read A Book Again, Katie at Bibliotekit, Yasmine at Yasmine’s Public Library, Emily at Oh, Magic Hour , and myself.
We came up with the idea of the Catch Up Club after discovering quite a few of us hadn't read some of the big YA titles that have released over the last couple of years. So far we have done Cinder/Scarlet by Marissa Meyer and Shadow & Bone/Siege & Storm by Leigh Bardugo.
I am the book pusher this time around- which basically means I'm going to tell you ALLLL the reasons why you should do this read-a-long with us if you haven't read these books before. We will spend two weeks reading the book(s) and at the end of the two weeks you have the option of reviewing the book. We love reading others' reviews and linking them up, promoting them via social media, etc.
SO! Without further adieu..... The next two weeks we are reading:
With Allegiant coming out at the end of the month, there's no better time to get started on this AMAZING series! Seriously!
So. Why should you read this series?
1) If you are a fan of dystopia- this series blows Hunger Games out of the water.
...................................
NO. Really.
2) TOBIAS 'FOUR' EATON.
Uh. Yeah. Enough said. Most of you know who Four is, but for those who don't? He is definitely at the top of my book boyfriend list. He pushes Tris to make her strong and protect her- he can come across as harsh, but he is very caring and sweet.
“You know, most boys would enjoy being trapped in close quarters with a girl." I roll my eyes.
"Not claustrophobic people, Tris.”
"Not claustrophobic people, Tris.”
3) Tris (Beatrice Pryor) Tris is an enjoyable heroine. I love that she takes the road less traveled and while she had no idea just how competitive Dauntless is, she really rises up to the challenge.
4) KISSING scenes. OH MY. If you're anything like me- I have to have a little lovin' in my books. And I love it when Tris and Four have their moments. She is formerly Abnegation, where they are not comfortable with touching and affection. Watching her discover she likes touching and kissing Four is really sweet and precious.
5) ACTION! Divergent and Insurgent are both super action packed. Government control, warring factions, conspiracies, outlaws, and let's not forget the revelations the end of Insurgent brought!
6) Strong side characters. I love books with strong side characters. We get some great ones: Christina, Will, Uriah, Caleb...
Those are just a few reasons, but I hope they're enough to pique your interest! You can sign up by clicking the Mister Linky widget below and/or tweet us using the #catchupclub hashtag!
