Music Monday #43

By 7:51 AM

Music Monday is a weekly feature I do to show off music must- haves!

This week I decided to go with a playlist I have been jamming to for a good while now. I was in Georgia over Labor Day weekend and heard this awesome indie rock station and I was like, man, I wish we had that! Well, ask and you shall receive! About a month or so ago I discovered we actually have one here in Nashville (AS WE SHOULD! Music capital of the world? YES.) Anyways- I have discovered so many new great bands from this station- and LOCAL ones too! So, that excites me to hear all the great music coming out of Nashville. Ok, I'll stop rambling and let you hear what I pulled together.

1. Handshake by Two Door Cinema Club * (Obsessed with this song!)
2. Another is Waiting by The Avett Brothers (Love my Avett Bros! A huge thanks to Colleen Hoover for introducing them to me!)
3. Chocolate by The 1975 (Thanks to one of my students for telling me about these guys!)
4. Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John * (This is an older song, but I don't care! I love it!)
5. Temple by Kings of Leon (I didn't know they were a Nashville band?!)
6. Come a Little Closer by Cage the Elephant (Love hearing this on the radio!)
7. Elephant by Tame Impala
8. Riptide by Vance Joy * (I tried winning tickets to go see him with Young the Giant in April.)
9. The Ceiling by The Wild Feathers
10. Unbelievers by Vampire Weekend
11. Agape by Bear's Den * (Heather Lyons first told me about these guys! And then I heard them on the radio! GREAT song.)
12. Got it Wrong by The Wild Feathers
13. You and I by Wilco
14. This Must Be the Place (Naïve Song) by The Lumineers
15. Midnight City by M83 * (I had heard this before and it was driving me crazy where I heard it. Boom- Warm Bodies.)
16. Are You Listening by Kopecky Family Band * (WOW. Amazing. Has similar sound to Of Monsters and Men)
17. Fire and Dynamite by Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors * (Discovered this band Friday. LOVE this song!)
18. Holding On For Life by Broken Bells * (Haunting, but I can't get enough!)
19. Runnin' by Modoc (Local band! I had no one to go see them with me on Friday. Boo. And it was pouring rain.)

So, there's my playlist that has been on repeat! Let me know if you check any out and find a new song that you like! :)

My blog is an award-free blog, however, as I just do not have the time to follow-up.
