Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Kate reveals there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.
There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself – and of me.
But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice, the most important of my life. Drew already made his –in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville. Alone. Well, sort of alone....
What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard and sometimes you have to go back to where you began, before you can move ahead.

Emma Chase is back with the next laugh-out loud installment of the Tangled series! And ooh boy does she put her characters through the ringer in this one! I admit I was a bit bummed when I learned that this book wouldn't be from Drew's POV. His voice was one of the things I LOVED about Tangled. Drew isn't afraid to act like a guy- he is crude and some of the things that go through his mind will have you in fits of hysterical laughter. I was definitely a little apprehensive about getting Kate's POV. HAVE NO FEAR. Drew has definitely rubbed off on Kate and I found myself laughing my butt off in this book too!
Kate is quite different from the Kate we saw in Tangled. Besides Drew rubbing off on her, she's a lot more laid back in this one. She is still one tough as nails woman and I really admire her strength because had I been in her same situation? I don't even know how I would have dealt. While Kate is tough, she does have one weakness. Drew. She is so in love with him and there were quite a few moments where I wanted to junk punch him for treating her like he did. Does this mean Kate is superwoman? No. She has her moments of vulnerability and shows her emotions and wallows like any woman would do in her situation. Yet, she doesn't overdo it. Kate is not one of those weepy women who can't function for months because of what's happened to her. She has her moments and then she manages to pick herself back up. It hurts like hell, but she knows she has a lot of decisions to make.
Kate is incredibly lucky to have the support system she does. Had she not had those people in her life, I don't know that the book would have had the same outcome. Dee, Billy, her mom, and George all have pivotal roles in helping Kate deal with everything that's been thrown at her.
I actually love the title of this book because it is SO fitting of the storyline. Drew and Kate's relationship gets quite twisted due to a lack of communication and jumping to the wrong conclusions. I obviously don't want to spoil anything, but if you're like me, you can probably guess some of the events that occur from what the blurb isn't coming right out and saying. I wouldn't say this is an original story at all- in fact it was a bit predictable to me. However, that didn't even phase me. I'm telling you. Emma Chase has such a unique writing style and you will love the way her characters tell the story. You really will feel as if you are there watching the events unfold in front of you and that Kate is offering you advice and insight as to what she's feeling and thinking.
I have to talk about Drew somewhere. Oh, Drew. I wanted to kill you. For real. You are such a stubborn, immature, child. I realize Kate didn't handle things in the way she should have, but damn you Drew for making ASS-UMPTIONS. Only Emma could make me love, hate, and then love him again in the span of a few chapters. Drew is very much a 'go big or go home' kind of guy. He loves Kate with everything he has and is destroyed when he thinks things he shouldn't. I can't fault him for that, he is who he is and Drew has made it clear from the beginning he doesn't share what's his.
I really loved the conclusion to Drew and Kate's story and I felt it ended the way it was meant to for these crazy kids. This book will make you laugh out loud, tug at your heart strings, but leave you with a big grin on your face. I am excited to check out Dee and Matthew's story in Tamed coming this May!
I close my eyes and let his words wash over
me. Drew has an amazing voice. Calm and
soothing - but devilishly seductive at the same time. He totally could’ve gone into radio.
I press another button.
And this time his tone is teasing. “Kaate, you’re late. . Tell Delores to pick out her own god damn shoes. You’ve got a boyfriend who’s sitting in a big, frothy Jacuzzi all by his lonesome. Come home, sweetheart. I’m here waiting for you.”
If only that was true today.
There’s more - some are quick and to the point, some are downright dirty. And I listen to every single one. He doesn’t say ‘I love you’ in any of them - but he doesn’t have to. I hear it in every word. Every time he says my name.

By day, Emma Chase is a devoted wife and mother of two who resides in a small, rural town in New Jersey. By night she is a keyboard crusader, toiling away the hours to bring her colorful characters and their endless antics to life. She has a long standing love/hate relationship with caffeine.
Emma is an avid reader. Before her children were born she was known to consume whole books in a single day. Writing has also always been a passion and with the 2013 release of her debut romantic comedy, Tangled, the ability to now call herself an author is nothing less than a dream come true.
