The TBR Tag

The TBR Tag

I was tagged by Wendy from Book Scents to do this and then Sheri from Tangled Up in Books just posted hers the other day, thus reminding me to do mine! So thanks ladies! Let's dive right in!

How Do You Keep Track Of Your TBR Pile?

I actually have an Excel spreadsheet. :) I made it all fancy by having it in chronological order of release date. As I go, I will highlight the books I've read and reviewed. so I can feel accomplished by crossing it off. Lately, I haven't been using my Excel spreadsheet as much, because I'm focused on reading review books and/or books for tours. So I consult my calendar and am trying to get those read. I sort of use Goodreads too. I have my to-read shelf, but there's a ton of books on there, so it overwhelms me.

Is Your TBR Mostly E-book or Print?

E-book all the way. I do have a large number in print now thanks to BEA, but the majority are e-book.

How Do You Determine Which Book From Your TBR to Read Next?

As I said above, I use my calendar to see which I have to read for review/tour first. Then, ideally I look at release date. Lately though, it's been whatever I feel in the mood to read. I've been undergoing a HUGE blogging/reading slump, so I'm trying to work my way out of that with books I actually want to read.

A Book That's Been On Your TBR The Longest?

Ok, it probably hasn't been on there the LONGEST, but it was the one I was SO excited to read as soon as it released (last summer) and I STILL have not read it. And everyone adores it!

A Book That You've Recently Added To Your TBR?

Last Year's Mistake by Gina Ciocca

I saw Nereyda from Mostly YA Book Obsessed post this as one of her WOW's and I just loved reading the blurb!

A Book On Your TBR Strictly Because Of Its Beautiful Cover?

Witchstruck by Victoria Lamb

I was also intrigued by the synopsis, but I think it was the gorgeous colors that drew me in.

A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan On Really Reading?

Sia by Josh Grayson

I hate to say never, especially since this was a review book, but it's definitely not high on my list, especially with low reviews/DNF's.

An Unpublished Book On Your TBR That You're Excited For?

Make It Real by Sabrina Elkins

I adored Sabrina's debut, Stir Me Up, so I cannot wait to read more from her!

A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone Has Read Except You?

The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead

If you're a fan of the Bloodlines series, you've probably already read this one.... yeah not me. LOL. Soon! (Edit: I actually JUST finished this one.)

A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You?

Splintered by A.G. Howard

Yes, I know I need to read this already!

A Book On Your TBR That You're Dying To Read?

The Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I have been dying to start these forever now.... SIGH. I swear. I'm GOING to make it happen THIS year!

The Number of Books On Your Goodreads TBR Shelf?

250. Don't be fooled though. I haven't added a lot of books to GR because I forget or am too lazy. It would probably be in the 1000's....

  1. So when I saw this post I was like "OMG I hope she tagged me I want to do this" and then I get to the bottom and did a happy dance! WHOOP! I cannot wait to do this! Anyhoo, you need to get on Splintered and Half Blood ASAP so we can discuss... you know I loves those books to bits and pieces! Witchstruck does have a very pretty cover but I actually DNFed that one, hopefully you like it more than I did. Love this post Jessica!

P.S.- I use excel too! It saves me =]

  2. Fun! I use an Excel spreadsheet too, but only for my review copies, not for books I bought or checked out from the library. I use my Goodreads TBR list to keep track of all of it - review copies and "my choice" books (and a huge number of "I think I want to read this" books.)

  3. Yes, yes you should read Splintered. I adore that book. The Distance Between Us was really good too! But getting through the TBR list is difficult so good luck. Haha.

  4. I know what you mean by being overwhelmed by the Goodreads TBR page. I just have so many books on there and its really hard to look at all the books.
I love the Covenant series so much! It is one of my all time favorites because of Alex and Aiden, they are some of the best characters I've read.

    Great post :D

  5. Oh my gosh I feel so lazy now! Haha I am seriously tempted to do the spreadsheet thing because I feel so unorganized and it'd be nice to have one place to look at EVERYTHING when I'm choosing what to read. Hmm...You may have inspired me! Besides I love a good spreadsheet. #Nerd I haven't read The Distance Between Us either and I really want to!! Totally just added Last Year's Mistake to my TBR. Your fault....:P Basically I just nodded and agreed with practically everything on your list haha

  7. My GR TBR is also out of control. I don't really even look at it, although I keep adding books to it. I keep a pretty simple list of ARCs by release date, but I'm with you: I've been going through such a reading slump with my new job that I'm only picking up the books I really want to read at that moment. I just don't have the energy to let my TBR pile overwhelm me the way it once did.

Leave me some comment love! And I will get around to commenting back!

My blog is an award-free blog, however, as I just do not have the time to follow-up.
