Top Ten Bookish Problems I Have

1)

My TBR overfloweth.

I want to read ALL the books! I have so many to read and my TBR is ridiculous. My bookshelf is filled with 95% of books that I haven't even read.

2)

Indecision

My massive TBR leads to my next problem. I get overwhelmed, so I have trouble deciding what to read. Then, I end up NOT reading because I'm too crazed.

3)

SPOILER ALERT!

Yep. That's me. I spoil books for myself. I can't stand not knowing what's going to happen, who the main character will fall for, etc. In fact, I will enjoy the book much more just knowing. Otherwise the unknown eats me up inside and I can't just let it flow.

4)

OCD, anyone?

I can't read multiple books at one time. I also try not to start another book until my review is written. It's already a battle for me to keep everything straight, so I can't add more chaos to my bookish life.

5)

The end.

I have a big problem finishing series. I don't do well with endings- knowing the series is going to be done and I won't spend time with those characters anymore. I get really sad so I tend not to finish them. I can't tell you how many unfinished series I haven't read!

6)

People That Just Don't Understand.

Thank goodness I have my blogging friends. Without them, I think I would internally combust. I HAVE to talk about books. I love knowing what everyone's reading and fangirling with everyone else about a book that we all loved. I don't have many people in my life that actually read the books that I do, (save for my bestie who gets it!) so it makes me sad that most people don't care/understand/ about how important books are to me.

7)

I've been ruined!

This is seriously a big issue. Being single, it's safe to say these fictitious book boyfriends have ruined me for real life dating. Who can compare to Jase from My Life Next Door or Cam from Wait For You? When I am swooning over these boys, I do my best to remember that it's usually a woman that wrote these and that these boys do not actually exist.

8)

If I could save time in a bottle....

There are not enough hours in a day. Between all the real life things I have to do, I can't find time to completely give myself over to reading and blogging. I can't just sit and read for hours and hours either. I find myself getting restless and then later on I get upset because I didn't get enough read. It's a vicious cycle...

9)

Library Books.

I love library books! There is nothing more satisfying than going to the library or getting books from the e-library. The problem? I never read them in time. I end up renewing them until I can't renew anymore. As for the elibrary, I'll download them for 2 weeks and then never get to them. Then I have to re-request them and usually have to wait for them to come available again. Sigh.

10)

Romance is a must have.

Romance is a must have in all my books. Even if it's not a primary storyline, I still have to have it in my books. I've noticed if there's zero romance, I have a harder time reading the book. Maybe it's because I am having to live vicariously through these characters and their relationships....

  1. Yes! Thank God for bloggy friends because most people just do not understand! And I struggle with endings too! Lately I keep finding myself pushing off reading series enders because I just cannot say goodbye! Great list!

    1. Right?! I am so thankful for you guys! Otherwise I think I'd go crazy! I have a problem with saying goodbye too. And then I wait so long that I almost need a series reread!

  2. Fantastic list, chicka!
-Spoiler alert - yes, that's totally my problem too! But I don't care, it's necessary for my sanity!
-Romance is a must have - yes ma'am.
-Indecision - this is me too. I'm such a mood reader and I can decide to read one book and the next second change my mind :P

    1. I am so glad you are with me on spoilers. Seriously. It's just nice to know I'm not the only one who does it! I never used to be a mood reader, but I totally am now! I hate being that way, especially since my OCD likes to keep to a schedule!

  3. Indecision - I have this problem all the time. Sometimes I just sit and stare at all my books feeling completely overwhelmed and then go off to do something else because I literally can't decide. Ugh. But then I go and complain about how I don't read enough/don't have time to read. Make a decision, self!!

And I'm like you, I can't read multiple books at once. How do people do this??? And I can only do like one book in between writing my review or else I forget everything. Book amnesia.

    Great list!!

    1. Yes! I will not read because of indecision, which stinks because then it sets me further back than I already am! Yep- I also complain about not having the time when it was my own fault. Sigh. Such a vicious cycle. I don't get how people read multiple books! I'm the same way. I really don't even like starting another book until my review is written!

  4. TBR overflow is such a struggle for me too. I never want to return my library books, bwhaha! I check out tons and never get to all of them before I have to return them :P I HATE SPOILERS WITH A DYING PASSION. Yet I still spoil myself sometimes. I can't help it. Great list ;)

    1. YES! I check out tons of library books and then I never get to them! It's really a waste! I guess I like having them as options? I dunno, lol.

  6. YES to all of these! OHMYGOSH! And I have a problem of spoiling books for myself as well! I try to stop, but I always end up flipping through the pages..sometimes reading things I shouldn't.. *sigh* it's so hard not to do that! But luckily it doesn't stop me from reading the book :)

    Love this post!

  7. I love your list! I totally agree with you, especially about not being able to finish a series. I've been burned so many times by series enders. Well- that or the girl doesn't pick my favorite guy at the end...torture!

  8. Number 3 rings so true for me, and I can hardly ever get anyone else to understand. I'm pretty good about not reading the end of most mysteries, but with many other books, I enjoy the book more if I have a sense of how it ends. Instead of reading anxiously and racing through, I can slow down a little and really enjoy the writing, characters, and story.
