Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I've been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I'm the one discovering him...or if he's uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

It's been awhile since I've become so wrapped up in a book where having to stop reading because of real life literally killed me. It's also been awhile since I've gotten a book hangover. Manwhore successfully did both to me and now all I can do is freak out until I get the next book in my hands. Seriously- the anticipation alone is going to give me angina. I really enjoyed this one if you couldn't already tell. Stories where you know the inevitable is to come are a bit harder to read because you know the happiness and the joy the characters feel is only temporary before it all goes shattering down around them. Still, I was all in for Rachel and Saint.

I really liked Rachel. She is dedicated to her work and hasn't made time for a relationship in a long time. There are reasons for this, but primarily she is determined to become a good journalist so she can take care of her mom. With her magazine faltering, it is up to Rachel to write the exposé of the year: on none other than billionaire playboy Malcolm Saint. It is her job to get close to him, even sacrifice some integrity in order to get the story. Rachel plans to do just that, but the deeper she goes, the more she realizes that there's more to Malcolm than meets the eye. Not to mention, feelings start getting involved and you just know it's going to turn into a hot mess from there. She is so in over her head with Saint. He likes her and ends up pursuing her, not taking no for answer. The things he does to ignite her every being... what single woman would be able to say no?!

Oh Saint. It was SO hard to get a read on him for most of the book, which is why I prefer dual POV. (Especially for these elusive playboy types.) I always want to know what they're thinking, if their actions are genuine, if they're REAL. There were so many times where I was desperate to be inside his head. I didn't want him to live up to the title of the novel. I wanted him to want MORE. I liked seeing his vulnerability and watching him slowly open up to Rachel. He is a powerful man who is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants so to see her fight her attraction to him was a lot of fun, considering he wasn't used to that before.

These two have serious sexual tension though. I felt it the second they met and after that I felt I was slowly going to combust from all the heat! Their scenes are pretty hot together, so heads up going in. There is no shortage of dirty talk and I could feel myself blushing at some points.

I cannot even wait for July for the next book. Seriously, that is the worst kind of torture after everything that transpired. That email Rachel drafted at the end? I would have given anything to jump into the book and click send for her. I could feel everything she felt and it killed me to reach the end of the book. If you're looking for a steamy, hot read this is the one to pick up. Katy Evans certainly does not disappoint.

  2. I saw this book some time back on GR and thought it sounded perfect for me until I found out it was a series. Why can't contemporary romances be standalones? They should be nothing but standalones!
I do like the sound of the sexual tension between the characters. Maybe when book 2 comes out, I'll just read them both back to back and pretend that they were one giant book! :D
    Great review, Jess!

  13. OMG WAIT. So. You'd recommend this one? I've seen people reading it, and there have been good reviews... I haven't read any of this author's books, but perhaps, I will make this the first!

I'll totally enter this giveaway! You know, last year, I would have said that I would break all the rules for The Guy - my personal bad boy in my life... not so much this year. And that is okay. So I don't think I'd break the rules for anyone, at the moment ;D

Thank you - and lovely review, Jess!
