Tasty Tuesday #28
Hey guys! I'm back again with another Tasty Tuesday!
I do alter my recipes to fit my own tastes, so please also feel free to
refer back to the original recipe at the bottom of the post to see what I
may have eliminated.
Most of my recipes are Weight Watcher friendly, but don't let that scare
you away. They are actually really good. I've also found some great
websites like Skinny Kitchen and Skinny Taste that I use a lot too. Most
of my recipes have some kick to them, so if you are not a big spicy
person, adjust the spices to better fit your tastes. OH. And all of the
meals I cook are really easy to prepare. I'm not big on difficult meals.
Today I am featuring:
Skinny Cheeseburger Salad
Ingredients:
-1 lb. lean ground beef
-1 cup yellow onions, diced
-3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
-1/2 tsp of seasoning salt
-fresh ground pepper, to taste
-romaine lettuce
-2 tbsp. 1000 Island Dressing
-2 tbsp. reduced-fat cheddar cheese
-1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
Directions:
1. In a large, nonstick pan add ground beef and onion. Brown over medium-hi heat, stirring often and breaking up beef, into a crumble.
2. Drain any fat. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, seasoning salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often.
3. To make one salad: Line a dinner plate with 4 cups of lettuce. Top lettuce with 1/2 cup burger crumble. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup tomatoes. Drizzle 2 tbsp. 1000 Island dressing over salad. Top with 2 tbsp. cheese.
Notes:
-Instead of seasoning salt, I added my own seasonings. I used Adobo and Creole seasoning. I also topped the salad off with salsa (as shown above)
Serving Size: 1 salad
Serves: I had enough beef for 4 salads total.
Cook Time: 12 minutes

This looks like taco salad without the tortilla chips. I'm hungry now. I look salad and I love cheeseburgers, so I'm going to save this and try it out someday.
ReplyDeleteSounds (and looks) rather yummy! A very good idea to mix some more meat on salads to make them more complete!
