The Monday Musts: Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn, Dave Matthews Band, and Post-It inspiration
The Monday Musts is a new weekly meme I started and will be doing
instead of Music Monday. This way I can combine my love of music to fit
better with my book blog.
I would love for others to join me in doing The Monday Musts! I have
included a Linky at the end of my post, so please share your Monday
Musts!
It's super easy to do. What is a must read book? What album/song/artist
is a must listen? And finally what has caught your eye that is a must
see? (Can be ANYTHING. Other blogs, bookish things, pictures, etc.)
This week's MUSTS:
Must Read:
Even though I've only read two of the Bridgerton books, (not by choice mind you. Overdrive is being hateful with book 3) I absolutely love Julia Quinn. I snagged this one off EW and devoured it yesterday and today. I just loved Billie and George!
Must Listen:
Artist: Dave Matthews Band
Album: Live in Central Park
Favorite Tracks: Crush; Cortez, The Killer; Grey Street; All Along the Watchtower; What You Are; Dancing Nancies...
If you have never seen DMB live, you are missing out on a seriously incredible experience. I've seen them a few times now and they have all been nothing short of spectacular. This is Dave's 25th anniversary year, and it also happens to be the last year of touring before they go on hiatus. SO. I am already scouting where I can see them this summer!
This is my favorite of Dave Matthews Band's live albums. Disk 3 has always been my favorite and the way he sings Watchtower, Grey Street, and What You Are STILL to this day give me chills because of the sheer passion they offer.
Must See:
So, this is a picture of my desktop. And yes those are Hamilton themed post-its attached.
I am working toward making a life altering change and while I can't really talk about it, these post-its have been a daily reminder to never give up on what I want. My life has been a bit of a roller coaster this last month with plenty of ups and downs. There has been A LOT of fear and 'what if I'm making a huge mistake' moments, but ultimately the excitement I have outweighs that. So, yeah. My Must See is my Hamilton post-it collection because it's amazing how a few simple messages can reinvigorate me to keep going after what I want in life.

I have never seen DMB live and not sure how that happened to be honest. I feel like I was supposed ot go a bunch of times in college and right out and couldn't for one reason or another I do love them though!! I love the inspirational Hamilton post its!!! You can do it (whateever it is :) )!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace! <3 And yes! Dave is so awesome live! I can't believe how many years it's been since I've seen him myself!
DeleteOk, I need to read the rest of the Bridgerton books. I have them all. I just don't have the time. LOL You totally know how it goes. I've seen Dave live once. It was a pretty phenomenal conference. Of course, it also went WAAAAAAY longer than it was supposed to and it ended up taking us THREE HOURS to get out of the parking lot at the venue, which meant it was after 2 AM when I finally got home. I had to work the next day. I don't have a lot of warm fuzzy feelings about the concert because of that. Not that I BLAME Dave, but I just can't look fondly back on that whole experience. Which kinda stinks.
ReplyDeleteI love your post-it notes. I'm a quote person. A few years ago at work, when I was dealing with pretty epic levels of shit, I had a quote under my keyboard. I wish I could've had it right out there in front of everything, but it wouldn't have ended well. LOL But it was still there when I needed to be reminded that I'd get through it all... one way or another. And, for the record, from one person contemplating pretty big life change to another – I'm here if you need to talk, vent or whatever. Of course it'll stay just between us. :)
I totally know how it goes girl! I am sitting here in my mountain of books going 'How do I even choose?' And ugh! I hate leaving concerts. That is always the worst part because you can expect to be in traffic forever. Luckily I've always gone to Dave's summer shows, ao I didn't have to worry about the next day (I think I usually took it off work lol)
DeleteJulia Quinn is the best! I love the Bridgertons, and you HAVE to read book 4 asap. Stupid Overdrive!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm thinking I'm just going to read book 4 and skip Benedict's book for now. I hate to do that because what if I miss something that leads to the identity of Lady Whistledown? Ugh.
DeleteHey lady I'm proud of you! I love the post-it inspirations and hope they continue to keep you motivated through the fear because I can't wait for the day you text me, because it will happen, and tell me everything is a go! Until then *waves pom poms*
ReplyDeleteAs for the rest I am SO jealous you've already read the Bridgerton spinoff starter! If I were you while I was waiting on the rest of the freaking books in the originally series to become available check out her other books as well. All of her books are equally as fabulous as the Bridgerton series, okay maybe just a little bit less because you can't touch that family for awesomeness!
DMB!!!! Obviously I approve of that pick. A LOT :D
Have a good week girl!
Thanks hun! I appreciate you saying that. <3 <3
DeleteAnd I definitely plan to read the other JQ books!
I love those post-its girl and they are perfect for what you are accomplishing right now! YOU GOT THIS!
ReplyDeleteAlso I must check out Julia Quinn =] and you know I enjoy DMB.
Thank you hun! I am really hoping they work! LOL. The power of positive thinking!
DeleteYES. If you like HR, JQ is my girl!
I need to read more books by Julia Quinn! Her books are so adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your post-its! Good luck with all your decisions, Jess! :)
Same Nick! I haven't read nearly as many as I want! But then again, I like that I have ones left that I can squeeze in every once in awhile. It makes me happy knowing I have more to get to! And thank you hun!
DeleteA new book to me. LOVE the dress. So gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMajanka @ I Heart Reading

ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read something by Julia Quinn so going to check that one out!
Happy Monday Jessica!!

DeleteYou go girl, those post-its are awesome!!! Whatever you've got brewing just remember to never give up :) And I love Dave Matthews Band, haven't listened to any of their stuff in awhile though so thank you for reminding me how wonderful they are ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! :) I need the inspiration because it's so easy to forget to be positive in light of challenges. I used to listen to Dave non-stop back in the day, but not nearly as much anymore, but I always love bringing him back!
DeleteIf Dave Matthews Band EVER came even remotely close to me, I would LOVE to see them because they are indeed awesome. At Central Park would have been a dream come true ♥ Oh and I,m a HUGE fan of sticky notes and buy them in every colour, shape and form I can find them to inspire me, remind me and organize my life XD
ReplyDeleteYES! I think Central Park would be a dream concert! And they sounded so amazing that night too. I do love sticky notes! As a teacher they save my life, haha.
Delete*high fives* All those Hamilton quotes are amazing and for sure good inspiration when you might need it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pili! I agree! I love seeing them everyday!
DeleteI wish you luck on this life altering change and even though I do not know as to what it pertains to, I can understand. I myself am going through some things and I adore the post-it notes! I love quotes :) That's why I do one every Friday on my blog. Hoping at least one will resonant with some one. Hope you are having a wonderful Monday! *HUGS*
