A book blog dedicated to young adult and new adult novels

Feature and Follow Friday #18

By 1:12 AM

The Feature & Follow is a weekly event that allows bloggers to get to know each other, and gain more followers! It is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

Leave me a comment and let me know how you followed so I can follow you back! You can also follow me on Twitter- because I love tweeting about books!

Q: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback, etc?

I definitely prefer e-books these days. A couple of years ago, I lost everything in an apartment fire (including my enormous bookshelf FILLED with books). So after that, I ended up moving back home to stay with my parents until I got back on my feet- and I bought myself a Nook instead. This way, if something happens, I won't ever lose all my books again! I only just recently started getting physical copies of books through signings, etc. Soooo. That's why I prefer e-books! And now it just feels weird to hold a real book. LOL.

What about you guys? What's your preference?

  1. Oh man! So sorry to hear that. Another good reason I can add to my list. I still love to go to the bookstore and browse with a coffee in my hand, even if I don't buy. I love the smell of books! I agree, an actually book feels weird now though. I read one a few months ago and I caught myself swiping the page to turn it! Haha, blonde moment :-)

    1. Hahaha! Swiping the pages! That's so funny! I cheat when I have real books. I will go peek at the end to see what happens. Sigh, I've been doing that ever since I was young. On eBooks its not as easy to cheat! LOL

  4. Oh my gosh, that's awful! I can understand why you'd prefer an e-reader then. I love my e-reader as well, but I can never resist buying physical copies. They're so pretty! :P

  7. Ouch, that would suck to ,lose everything to a fire. It's always been a fear of mine that my house would go on fire and all my books would be gone. But you did lose all of yours.
And that's a very good reason to prefer e-books.

    1. Yeah, it definitely sucked. I had quite a nice collection of books I no longer read (but had wanted to again at some point) LOL. Ah, well. Now I have them all in one nice location! So I bring my eReader everywhere!

  11. Dude, what a drag! I'm sorry to hear about the fire! I would be devastated if my beloved library went up in flames. I get why you adore ebooks (but nothing will ever beat a physical book... just saying :P) Old follower via bloglovin' and GFC!

  12. Ouch! The only threat to a physical book really. If that happened to me, that might be my kicker too.
