"The phoenix hope, can wing her way through the desert skies,
and still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise.” -Miguel de Cervantes

Samantha Whitney survived unimaginable tragedy only to discover she had been betrayed by a man who claimed to love her. Shattered, Sam spends months at a safe haven trying to piece herself back together. Ready or not, the time has come for her to return home.

Pieces For You is a captivating journey of survival, healing, and sacrifice—teeming with honesty, humor, unexpected twists, and love’s unsurpassed endurance.begin to plague Sam, it is Griffin she is forced to turn to.

I am still blown away by this book. I enjoyed the first in the series, but I absolutely adored this one. I was definitely nervous upon starting it, as I knew this was Sam’s book and Sam underwent some serious trauma in the last book. This book focuses on her healing from her ordeal and learning how to cope with life after. I loved Sam’s spunk and fun-loving, sarcastic attitude in the last book. She is definitely the more adventurous one between her and her best friend Everleigh and her enthusiasm is contagious. However, everything has now changed for Sam. Her road to recovery will not be an easy one, but thankfully she has such an amazing support system in her best friend Everleigh and her best friend’s boyfriend Hunter. These two love her dearly and are the family she never had with her own parents. Helping Sam is an adjustment for them, as they also must learn how to best help Sam move past what happened.
I liked Hunter and Ev from the first book, but I think I fell in love with them in this one. They are really meant for one another and I love seeing them devoted to each other. Their PDA is even adorable! I liked Hunter in the first book, but I mentioned I had a hard time falling for him, as he was forced to keep himself at a distance. I love how protective he is of both Ev and Sam and how affectionate and caring he is with both of them. He knows Sam is essentially Ev’s sister and he really swoops in as a big brother figure to her. And Huntleigh? OMG- I loved how Sam referred to them as that. It never ceased to make me giggle everytime she said it.
Which brings me to Griffin. Oh, boy. I would give a kidney to be with a man like him. Seriously. We meet him briefly in Only For You, and we can see his attraction to Sam, but nothing comes of it, as she starts dating a guy named Robbie. Griffin ends up being a good friend to Ev and then later Hunter and now the three are inseparable. They even have Thursday night dinners together, which I thought was adorable. The entire time Sam was away, Griffin worried over her and hated not being able to be there for her. He is just a good man through and through and my heart would NOT stop fluttering the whole damn book! I also really like that Rulon included a few chapters in his POV too. Once Sam returns, Griffin really becomes her rock and another source of strength in her life. She has a lot to overcome and Sam is still a stubborn girl- she doesn’t want to completely depend on anyone and is determined to be able to do things for herself. Watching her repair and rebuild is incredible and I love that she refuses to let what happened dictate her life. She refuses to hide away and let others intimidate her- this is where we see her start to piece herself back together. While she will never be the same, she learns how to forge Old Sam with New Sam and find a balance between the two.
Griffin and Sam’s relationship is by far one of my all time favorites. He is exactly what she needs and it is with his guidance, patience, and love that she finds motivation to do what she needs to. He is determined to earn her trust and not take their relationship too fast too soon. These two definitely undergo their share of obstacles, and there were a few chapters where I felt my heart had been sliced to ribbons. Rulon brought the perfect amount of steam and I was completely satisfied with their physical and emotional relationship.
Sam’s parents are definitely a piece of work. Wealthy, arrogant, and only concerned about their name- they are the opposite of loving, nurturing parents. I absolutely hated them and how they blatantly disregarded their daughter and her needs. This is another reason why the bond between Hunter, Ev, Griffin, and Sam is so incredible and heartwarming. I love watching the four interact and spend time together.
Overall, this book had everything I could ever want- characters I was invested in and cared for, great character development and growth, incredible romance, as well as the underlying mystery surrounding threats Sam has been receiving due to her refusal to bury the truth of what happened. The pacing was perfect and I didn’t feel the dialogue was as descriptive or formal as it was in the last book.
We are also introduced to another side character, Meg- who works with Ev and Sam at the coffee shop, and I am hoping book three is about her! We are given a bit of insight into Meg’s home life and a quick allusion to her past and this girl needs her a HEA! She is beautiful, sweet, and incredibly brave and I love that all of Rulon’s female MC’s are like that.

We are getting Meg's book and it's called Temper for You ;) I can't wait to see who her love interest is going to be. I'm pretty sure he will fit perfectly in this crew and I'm pretty sure he's going to win the competition that the girls of Higher Yearning have going on for ''HOTTEST BOYFRIEND''.
