Tasty Tuesday #5
Hey guys! I'm back again with another Tasty Tuesday!
I do alter my recipes to fit my own tastes, so please also feel free to
refer back to the original recipe at the bottom of the post to see what I
may have eliminated.
Most of my recipes are Weight Watcher friendly, but don't let that scare
you away. They are actually really good. I've also found some great
websites like Skinny Kitchen and Skinny Taste that I use a lot too. Most
of my recipes have some kick to them, so if you are not a big spicy
person, adjust the spices to better fit your tastes. OH. And all of the
meals I cook are really easy to prepare. I'm not big on difficult meals.
Today I am featuring:
BBQ Turkey Joes
Ingredients:
-1lb. ground turkey
-1/2 red bell pepper, diced (not pictured here, as when I cut it open from the store it was MOLDED. GRR.)
-1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
-1/2 green bell pepper, diced
-1/2 yellow bell pepper, diced
-1/2 onion, diced
-1 cup BBQ sauce
-6 hamburger buns, whole wheat
Directions:
1. Brown turkey coated in skillet with spray. Drain.
2. Add peppers and onion and cook until tender (3 minutes or so)
3. Add BBQ sauce and cayenne pepper. Heat and stir.
Notes:
*You can pair these with anything really. This time around I made one of those Betty Crocker Suddenly Pasta Salad boxes. It was the Creamy Parmesan one. It wasn't bad. It had peas and I'm not really a pea fan though.
Serving Size: Just enough to fit on one bun without going overboard. (You'll want to have 6 servings of this.)
Serves: 6
Cook Time: 13 minutes
WW points +: 9

I love this feature, it is so much fun! It makes me feel like such a slacker lol I need to start cooking more
ReplyDeleteIve never tried turkey joes but I do love sloppy joes! No one else likes them at home so I rarely get to eat them...
ReplyDeleteUgh! I'm sitting here hungry trying to decide if I abandon my plan for dinner and do this instead...so evil woman! This looks delicious and I LOVE those Suddenly Salad things though I AM a huge fan of peas so double yum haha! Not sure I've had the Creamy Parmesan one before though. We usually get Ranch and Bacon I think it is? Anyway good pick. Hmm...Spaghetti or BBQ Turkey Joes? Decisions, decisions...
ReplyDeleteI want to make these!! Usually I get lazy and just use one of those canned sloppy joe sauce things but this sounds delicious. Also yuck, hate when that happens! :( This look sooo yummy.
ReplyDeleteLeave me some comment love! And I will get around to commenting back!
My blog is an award-free blog, however, as I just do not have the time to follow-up.
