Twenty-two-year-old historical romance writer Nicole Blake, or N.S. Blake to her readers, hasn't taken an official poll, mind you, but she is convinced she may be the only romance author on the planet who is still a card-carrying member of the virgin club. Not that she hasn't tried to end her membership. Life just keeps finding pesky ways to interfere. With no prospects on the horizon, Nicole begins to feel like the closest she will ever get to experiencing a man is within her own stories.

Opportunity presents itself in the form of hot-as-sin-on-a-lollipop-stick bartender/premed student Alec Petropoulos, who agrees to be the cover model for her upcoming book. Sparks fly instantly between them, and Nicole begins to entertain the possibility that she's finally found the right guy to hand over her tattered V-card. Alec has all the makings for a perfect one-night-stand candidate except, much to Nicole's surprise, he seems to be the only man in existence not interested in bagging a virgin.

Stuck between a rock and a stubborn male, what's a virgin to do? Seduce him, of course. How hard could it be? If it works for the characters in her stories, why wouldn't it work for her? After all, what happens under the cover…stays under the cover.

It's no secret Tiffany is one of my favorite authors. So why in the world I waited as long as I did to read this... I don't even know! This book really sets itself apart from most other romances, because of how much I could relate to it! Well, not the finding an incredibly hot model part. Our main character is an indie author! As a blogger, I've worked very closely with several indie authors and had the immense privilege of hanging out with several of them this past summer at a conference!

I really loved getting into Nicole's mind and seeing her writing habits, as well as how she deals with promoting her novels and everything that goes into it. Nicole herself is a hot mess though. She's a bit shy and awkward, but there's just something really endearing about her! There were so many scenes in this book I couldn't help but laugh at the poor woman! The icing on top of the cake? She's a romance author who writes incredibly sexy scenes... and still has her v-card! The right opportunity just hasn't presented itself to Nicole.... until she meets her oh-so-sexy male model, Alec. Even after acting like a total nutcase in front of him, he doesn't seem too put off by her. In fact, the two really hit it off after an evening out with their friends. They have instant chemistry with one another and it's seriously hawt.... until Nicole mentions that she's still a virgin.

*Crickets*

Alec isn't a bad guy. Sure, he's good looking, but he's also working as a bartender by night and a pre-med student by day. He's flirty, fun, and polite- what's NOT to like? Well Alec Petropoulos, you really pissed me off with the way you handled the big V news. It was completely out of character for him to act that douchey, so it really took a while for him to win me back over. Poor Nicole. I wanted to jump into the book and give her a big hug. She was humiliated for one, and two- no one likes to feel rejected.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy for Nicole to say c'est la vie and move on with her life. Her best friend and cover designer, Olivia, also helps Nicole with some of her publicity. Having to attend a few book signings and conferences, Olivia points out that the hot thing right now is to have the male model accompany her to help promo her book. Uh.... AWKWARD.

Alec and Nicole make it work, however, and decide to try their hand at friendship. Too bad the two of them having steaming hot chemistry together! That chemistry is bubbling beneath the surface ready to explode! We do find out why Alec is against taking Nicole's v-card and while I can't begrudge him his reason, he probably could have handled his reaction a lot better than he did. Still. He's a guy and guys sometimes have NO tact.

Nicole can't deny that having Alex with her is doing wonders for her upcoming book sales. The more time they spend with each other, the more Nicole is determined to get him to crack. And crack he does....

I really enjoyed this novel by Tiffany, even though I did find Alec to have a bit duality to his character. There were a few of his actions that I didn't particularly like, especially after he acted in a completely opposite manner prior to them. Aside from those inconsistencies, King has created a really fun romance that I had a blast reading. Any time I can strongly relate to a book and its characters makes it that much more worthwhile for me!

Tiffany! Thank you so much for doing this interview with me! As soon as I finished reading, I knew I HAD to pick your brain!

It's my pleasure. I'm so glad you enjoyed The Write Stuff!

Before we jump into it, how would you describe your book in 10 words or less for those who haven’t yet read it?

Awkward virgin romance author seeks hot as sin cover model.

Our main character Nicole is an indie author, who is working on a new book series. I love that we get to see Nicole attending signings and promoting her new book. Did you draw on your own experiences to write this novel?

Absolutely. There was a time when I would stress about going to signings because I am a shy person by nature, but over the years I have become much more comfortable. Now I can honestly say I enjoy meeting new people and talking to readers about my books. As for bringing a cover model along---I've never done that myself, but I've seen some crazy things at events. Let's just say, some people are awfully enthusiastic about taking pictures with cover models.

Is Nicole’s character based off a real person? Maybe… you? LOL. Or does she have some of your characteristics?

Nicole is not completely based on any one person in particular, but she and I do share some of the same personality traits. I'm not necessarily the introvert that she is, but I also don't like attracting a lot of attention to myself if I can help it.

The author friends of Nicole … are they based on any real life authors? J

Maybe. I can't tell you who though. It's our little secret ;)

What made you sit down and write a book like this?

It just seemed like an interesting dynamic. An author and a hot cover model with an obvious attraction toward one another, on a book tour together. Then, after pondering different directions I wanted the story to go, I came up with the idea to make Nicole a virgin. I think it added a fun twist of irony that makes the story even more intriguing. I hope the readers feel the same way.

If you had to cast Alex and Nicole, who would you choose? (Or do you have any pictures of people you envision as them?)

Someone like Selena Gomez would be fun for Nicole, and maybe Liam Hemsworth for Alec. He could definitely pull it off.

Do you prefer self-pubbing over traditional pubbing? If so, why?

Indie-publishing got me to where I am today. My experiences in self-publishing have always been positive and have brought me great success. I will never give up that side of the business. That being said, I am also absolutely loving my experiences in traditional publishing. I have a wonderful relationship with my agent and with my editor at Berkley. I've never been the type to put myself in a box, so when the opportunity to enter traditional publishing came my way, I jumped at it. Now, I'm glad I did because it has taken my career in different directions that I had not been able to reach on my own. There are many avenues available to authors today. You have to look at each opportunity and decide if it's right for you, and understand that what works for one author may not work for you.

If you could sit down for coffee with any author, who would you want to talk to and what would you chat about?

I've been fortunate to have developed some great friendships with several authors and we chat about anything and everything, but if you're giving me the opportunity to reach for the stars, I would pick J.K. Rowling any day of the week. I would love to listen to her talk about her experiences and her thoughts about how her idea turned to something that changed her entire life and how she's handled it over the years.

    1. Yes! It was so cool to read just from a blogger perspective because of how many indie authors we work with!

  2. Love that the MC is an author, that alone makes me want to read it. Even if I already hate Alec for his reaction, it's not the plague to be a virgin! But I'll give him a chance :O

Leave me some comment love! And I will get around to commenting back!

My blog is an award-free blog, however, as I just do not have the time to follow-up.
