Lovin' los libros

A book blog dedicated to young adult and new adult novels

Monthly Recap

April

Hi guys! It's finally MAY! May is always a favorite month of mine because it means summer is coming and I get a break from teaching!

This May will feel quite different because, for the first time in 9 years, I will not be returning to the classroom after the school year ends. I have loved being a high school Spanish teacher, but it's finally time to move on. I will be making the move to New York City this June to pursue a career in publishing. I am so excited about the opportunity I have and am looking forward to starting a new chapter in my life.

Hence the reason for my hiatus. I have been MIA from the blog these last couple of weeks and even more so from the social media world for the last couple of months, as I have been making preparations. This month will probably be the craziest of all, so I am going to just post when I can.

I did manage to get some reading in this past month, as I have been trying to read some books off my shelves. (I know that I can't bring two bookcases full of books to the city with me, as I won't be living alone.)

My favorite read this month goes to Addicted by Elle Kennedy. I just love this series so much!

Monthly Recap

March

Happy April guys! March was quite an exciting month for me as I had some big things going on! Tonya came to visit and we went to the first ever SE-YA Book Festival here in my hometown which was a blast, I had Spring Break this past week which was wonderful, AND I'm still working on making some lifestyle changes that I really hope will be meant to be.

My reading month was strained because of some of those big changes, as I have been doing a lot of preparation, research, etc. Also, my parents have closed on a house down in Florida, so there are all kinds of changes going on with my family!

I always plan to read way more than I actually do on breaks from school. I started several books here at the end but I had to set them aside because they weren't holding my interest like I wanted them to.

My favorite read this month was Because of Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn! I loved George and Billie! They were so much fun! I had the worst book hangover after finishing and I am SO ready for more!

Monthly Recap

February 2016

Happy March everyone! March is one of my favorite months of the year! I love spring, as well as spring break! Not to mention, it marks the halfway to summer point!

I am most looking forward to the very first SE-YA in the Boro Book Festival March 11-12th! We finally have our own young adult book festival here where I live and it's going to be epic! Thursday, Katie McGarry and Colette Ballard are coming to my school to talk and I am so looking forward to those lovely ladies! Friday, I am helping to chaperone the trip to the actual book festival! Friday is for high schoolers only, so it's going to be great! Saturday the festival is open to the public and I am so happy Tonya is coming with me! I will also get to see Ellice, Cassie, Shannon, and several other bloggers so I am beyond excited!

I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed when I tallied my books today because I totally thought I had read more than I did! Oh well. Next month I have spring break and I am not going anywhere, so I'll hopefully get plenty of reading in!

My favorite read this month was You Were Here by Cori McCarthy. I've gushed about this book before, but I just LOVE when a book sweeps me off my feet!
